"Laiad Holq Ta Napea...
Breathing is an often overlooked part of Magickal training. There are several methods and a few that will be addressed here are the four-fold, and pore breathing; but what does it mean to really breath properly?
Proper breathing techniques are vital to a magickian. I will cover several aspects here in this discussion thread.
First off let me state that proper breathing is very important not just magickaly but in your everyday living. Breath carries the vital oxygen to your brain and body and is critical in maintaining higher functions of both.
We will begin this discussion with what is commonly called "deep breathing" or "abdominal breathing".
This technique requires you to be sitting or standing with the spine straight. Place your hands on your abdomen and take a deep breath in. Extend your abdomen out, feel it stretch out and expand. What you are doing is pulling down and freeing your diagphram to allow more air into your lungs. Next exhale long and deep while contracting your abdomen and push your diagphram up expelling as much exhausted air as you can. this will provide two benefits... primarily it will make room for more air on your next inhale and it will expelll more CO2 making your breathing more efficient.
Do not strain yourself too much at first let yourself get accostomed to this technique and in time you will not need to place your hands on your belly to know you are doing it correctly. In you will also help develop and strengthen your diagphram.
